During the NFL Draft Combine, while teams were focused on scouting players for their skills, NFL analyst Chris Carter stood out for highlighting Sam Hartman for his appearance.
Carter, a former wide receiver, referred to the Notre Dame quarterback as a “male model” and deemed him the “best-looking guy” at the combine. He particularly noted Hartman’s distinctive hair and beard, which set him apart from other prospects.
The NFL captured Carter’s humorous remarks as he praised Hartman for everything except his on-field abilities and shared the clip on its Instagram page.
“He’s definitely the best-looking guy at the damn combine,” Carter commented, adding, “I sent my wife a picture of him. She’s like, ‘I thought you were working?'”

Describing Hartman as resembling a male model, Carter enthusiastically pointed out his striking appearance, drawing attention to his flowing hair and well-groomed beard.
Fans echoed Carter’s sentiments in the comment section, showering Hartman with compliments such as “gorgeous” and “perfect specimen.” One user even joked that Hartman looked like the offspring of Jason Momoa and Ryan Reynolds.
Despite the focus on his appearance, Hartman boasts impressive credentials on the field. After two seasons at Wake Forest, he spent a successful year playing at Notre Dame before declaring for the draft. In his final season, Hartman threw for 2,689 yards and 24 touchdowns, leading the Fighting Irish to a 10-3 record.
Furthermore, Hartman’s college career includes tying for the third-most touchdown passes in college football history, with 134 to his name.
While Hartman’s athleticism was showcased at the combine with notable metrics such as a 4.80-second 40-yard dash and a 28.5-inch vertical jump, he is projected to be a late-round pick in a quarterback talent-filled draft class.
