Chris Brown is pulling out all the receipts.
The singer alleges that he was excluded from participating in the NBA All-Star Celebrity Game due to his prior domestic violence incident involving ex-girlfriend Rihanna. It has been eight years since the infamous incident in which Chris Brown physically assaulted Rihanna following a pre-Grammys party.
The “Under the Influence” artist took to his Instagram Stories on Saturday morning to share screenshots of emails purportedly from the NBA, discussing travel and logistics for the All-Star weekend festivities in Indianapolis, which commenced on Friday.

One email, supposedly from an NBA representative, included images of Brown’s proposed blue uniform as part of Lil Wayne’s team.
“I was asked by the NBA to play in the all-star game this year! Only for them to call later and say they couldn’t do IT because of their sponsors like RUFFLES,” Brown stated in one of his posts.
Expressing frustration, he added, “At this point I’m sick of people bothering me and I’m tired of living in the f–king past. I POSTED THE EMAILS SO YALL COULD SEE. The NBA still was tryna get me to come and sit court side… NOT F–KING HAPPENING.”
The Grammy winner emphasized his stance, concluding, “I ONLY GO WHERE IM APPRECIATED.”
Supporters took to Twitter to defend Brown against the NBA and Ruffles, citing perceived hypocrisy in the selection of individuals to work with.
However, Ruffles clarified to Page Six that while they sponsored the NBA All-Star Celebrity Game, they were not involved in player decisions or celebrity invitations.
Brown’s legal troubles have persisted since pleading guilty to felony assault in 2009. In 2017, his ex Karrueche Tran was granted a five-year restraining order against him for alleged aggression when she refused to return gifts and money from their relationship.
