The virtual realm occasionally spills over into the tangible world.
Resurfaced tweets from NFL star Travis Kelce, dating as far back as 2009, gained traction online last week. While old posts on social media have led to challenges for public figures in the past, Kelce’s posts on X (formerly Twitter) primarily showcased his affection for Chipotle, albeit with consistent misspellings of the popular chain’s name. One such post from April 27, 2011, read, “Went from class to therapy, now I need some #chipolte and then I’m off to check out my new apt.”

In response to the viral tweets, Chipotle decided to rename one of its Kansas City restaurant locations to “Chipolte” in a playful nod to Kelce’s spelling quirks. The name change was implemented before Monday’s game between the Kansas City Chiefs and the Philadelphia Eagles, where Kelce’s brother Jason is a player.
The renamed store is situated just minutes away from Arrowhead Stadium, where the Kelce brothers faced off. This matchup marked their first meeting since the 2023 Super Bowl and the first time the Eagles secured a victory over the Chiefs since 2009.
It appears that the enthusiasm surrounding the Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce connection has caught the attention of many.
