Chariah Gordon and Taylor Swift formed an instant bond, a connection that felt natural from the very beginning. The two Kansas City Chiefs WAGs (Wives and Girlfriends) have only known each other for a year, but their friendship has blossomed quickly, feeling as though they have been lifelong friends, according to Gordon.
“I actually got a chance to meet her at Trav’s house and she was just super, super sweet,” Gordon told Glamour, recalling her first time meeting the global pop sensation. “And since then we’ve been super cool,” she added. “I call her my sis. That’s my sis.”
Taylor Swift, 34, joined Chiefs Kingdom last season after beginning her relationship with tight end Travis Kelce. Since then, the “Fortnight” singer has become a familiar sight in the stands at Arrowhead Stadium, often cheering alongside fellow WAGs in support of her boyfriend. Swift’s spirited support has endeared her to the Chiefs family, and she’s been embraced by the other partners of the players, including Gordon, who is engaged to wide receiver Mecole Hardman Jr.
Gordon often shares glimpses of her growing friendship with Swift on social media. She’s posted photos of their time together at post-game celebrations, and even shared moments of “Auntie Tay” spending time with her kids. Despite Swift’s megastar status, Gordon sees her as just another down-to-earth friend.
“She’s just a really sweet, down-to-earth girl,” said Gordon, 29, describing Swift’s humble nature. “I forgot that she was even Taylor Swift, that’s how she makes you feel,” Gordon explained. “I wasn’t thinking, ‘Oh my God, this is Taylor.’ It felt more like, ‘Oh, this is one of my homegirls from back home.’ That’s how comfortable she made me feel. I love it.”
Their bond extends beyond football season, and though the two haven’t been able to spend as much time together during the NFL offseason, Swift has still found thoughtful ways to stay connected. Gordon shared that while Swift was on the European leg of her Eras Tour, she sent a special gift to Gordon’s children.
Though Gordon didn’t disclose exactly what was sent, she hinted that it was something “so freaking cute and so thoughtful.” “Even in between her shows, she was still making sure to keep my kids close,” Gordon added with appreciation.

Gordon, who welcomed her second child, a daughter, in April, just weeks before Swift resumed her tour in Paris, was touched by the gesture.
A few months later, Gordon reportedly returned the favor, sending Swift a massive bouquet of flowers following her big night at the MTV Video Music Awards. It’s gestures like these that underscore the genuine friendship they’ve developed, one that goes beyond the superficial and is full of real care and mutual support.
Swift has also grown close to Brittany Mahomes, wife of Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes, with whom she regularly cheers from the stands. The camaraderie among the Chiefs WAGs has become a staple of game days, with the trio of Swift, Gordon, and Mahomes often spotted enjoying the action together.
However, fans took notice this past Sunday when Swift was absent from the stands during the Chiefs’ matchup against the Buffalo Bills. Her absence was notable, as the team suffered their first loss of the season without their good-luck charm present to cheer them on.
Despite the loss, Gordon and the rest of the Chiefs’ inner circle continue to embrace their roles, with Swift’s absence only making her presence more cherished.
For Chariah Gordon, what started as a chance meeting has evolved into a heartfelt friendship with one of the world’s biggest stars.
Whether it’s cheering at Arrowhead Stadium or sending thoughtful gifts across continents, the bond between Gordon and Swift shows that genuine connections can flourish, even in the most unexpected of settings.
