Travis Kelce seems to be performing even better on the football field when his girlfriend, Taylor Swift, is in the stands, according to his Kansas City Chiefs teammate Justin Reid. The Chiefs safety made the lighthearted observation during an appearance on Up & Adams on Tuesday, where he discussed the impact of Swift’s presence at games.
When asked if Kelce plays better when Swift is there to cheer him on, Reid didn’t hesitate to agree. “Absolutely. Who doesn’t play better when they want to impress their girlfriend?” Reid said with a grin. “Taylor, come to all the games. Taylor, keep coming.”
Kelce’s performance has been solid throughout the season, and the Chiefs have won all five of their games since the start of September. Swift has been in the stands for three of those games, including Monday night’s victory against the New Orleans Saints.
Many fans have noticed Kelce’s particularly strong showings when Swift is present, fueling the playful theory that the pop star’s support gives him an extra boost on the field.
After missing two consecutive games, Swift made a highly anticipated return to Arrowhead Stadium for Monday’s matchup. The 14-time Grammy winner was dressed to impress, rocking a plaid Vivienne Westwood skirt set and black over-the-knee boots, topped off with glitter freckles. Her stylish entrance didn’t go unnoticed, especially by Travis’ brother, Jason Kelce, who praised her look during Monday Night Countdown.
“Look at that now,” Jason, the retired Philadelphia Eagles player, said when the camera panned to Swift entering the stadium. “That looks good.”
Jason Kelce also addressed recent chatter about his brother’s “slow start” to the season, clarifying that Swift’s presence has had nothing to do with it. While some fans speculated that the increased attention on Kelce’s personal life might be affecting his game, Jason shot down those rumors.
“I know, optics are that he is all over the place,” Jason explained. “And that’s not just optics. That’s reality. But he still keeps the main thing the main thing.”
Jason added that his brother has always found a balance between enjoying his off-seasons and staying fully committed to football. “He has enjoyed his off-season very much — even before Taylor Swift and everything else that’s been going on in our lives. And I think that he is always gonna find a way to make football the No. 1 priority in terms of being prepared.”
Kelce certainly proved that point on Monday night, where he caught nine passes for 70 yards in the Chiefs’ 26-13 win over the Saints.
After the game, Kelce and Swift were spotted sharing a sweet moment in front of their dads, Ed Kelce and Scott Swift. The couple was seen kissing and later cuddled up at a post-game party, much to the delight of fans.
Kelce and Swift have been dating since 2023, and despite recent rumors of a potential breakup, their relationship appears to be going strong. Their bond has only seemed to grow over the course of the NFL season, with Swift frequently attending Chiefs games to support her boyfriend.
As Kelce continues to shine on the field, with or without Swift in attendance, it’s clear that their relationship has become one of the most talked-about stories in both the sports and entertainment worlds.
Whether it’s cheering from the stands or sharing moments post-game, Swift’s presence seems to be bringing even more energy to the Kansas City Chiefs’ season.
