The Chicago Bears football team appears to be experiencing a significant decline.
A Chicago radio host criticized the Bears organization for what they perceived as mistreatment of Justin Fields.
On Sunday Night Football, Tyler Bagent replaced the injured Fields, but the NBC broadcast seemed to present a different narrative. Cris Collinsworth suggested that the Bears would have Fields “observe” the undrafted rookie, who threw two interceptions in a 30-13 loss to the Los Angeles Chargers.

In a passionate rant, Dan Bernstein of 670 The Score appeared to imply that the Bears played a part in shaping this narrative.
“They just ignore the fact that he’s hurt,” Bernstein said. “And the moment that they get their chance, the moment they get to national TV, then they start that little back-stabbing whisper campaign. It sucks.”
Bernstein asserted that the Bears pressured Fields to apologize for his earlier statement in the season, in which he suggested that coaching might be a factor preventing him from playing as freely as he’d like. The pundit believes that if head coach Matt Eberflus and his staff aren’t interested in working with the 24-year-old, they should step aside.
“I’m just sick of the big picture of what’s going on here. I’m sick about it. If you don’t want to coach Justin Fields, if that’s too much for you, if you can’t handle him, then you suck as a coach,” he said.
Bernstein described the organization’s treatment of Fields as “unfair.”
“The overtones are ugly. The ass-covering is ugly, and that’s why a lot of it pissed me off,” Bernstein said. “You don’t have to be the most perceptive person around this team to understand what’s going on.”
Fields remains “week to week” due to a thumb injury, so Bagent will start for the Bears in Week 9 against the New Orleans Saints.
Justin Fields finds himself in a challenging situation in Chicago, and there are no indications of improvement for the talented quarterback.
