Chennedy Carter recently addressed the controversy surrounding her bodycheck on Caitlin Clark, stating that she doesn’t regret her actions.
The Chicago Sky player explained that her shove on Clark was a reaction to being struck in the head moments earlier.

Despite footage suggesting she directed an expletive at Clark before knocking her down, Carter stood by her decision, saying,
“I don’t have any regrets with anything. I’m going to compete and play 100 percent hard – no matter who it is or who we’re playing.”
Carter described her actions as spur-of-the-moment and claimed she was simply responding to being hit earlier.
She mentioned footage showing Clark elbowing her before the incident.
“I think I got hit in the head the play before, and it was just one of those things that was in the heat of the moment,” Carter said. “I don’t know Caitlin. I don’t know her from anyone, but at the end of the day, this is hoops, it is competitive.”
Highlighting her competitive spirit, Carter emphasized her readiness for physical play.
“This is basketball, if you’re playing someone like me, I classify myself as a dawg. So if you’re going to throw a punch, I’m going to compete with you,” she stated.
She also clarified that on the court, it’s intense competition, but off it, it’s all love.
Despite receiving support from Whoopi Goldberg, Carter faced questions about whether she believed her actions had crossed a line, especially since even her coach, Teresa Weatherspoon, criticized them as inappropriate.
