Here’s one celebrity feud that shows no signs of slowing down.
Charles Barkley has once again voiced his disdain for Skip Bayless, criticizing the “Undisputed” host’s recent comments about Tom Brady, Bill Belichick, and the Patriots dynasty. During a segment on “The Dan Patrick Show,” Barkley took issue with Bayless’ assertion that Belichick only won championships because of Brady.
While the exact timing of Bayless’ remarks is unclear, he has previously referred to Belichick as a “glorified defensive coordinator” during a segment on Jan. 25th. This ongoing debate about Brady and Belichick has intensified following Brady’s departure from the Patriots and subsequent Super Bowl win with the Buccaneers.
Barkley defended Belichick, arguing that criticism of him isn’t fair since Brady didn’t coach the Patriots’ defense or special teams. He also questioned the validity of criticism directed at other successful coaches like Andy Reid, suggesting that their success is often attributed to star players like Patrick Mahomes.
Throughout the interview, Barkley emphasized the importance of fairness and objectivity in sports analysis, criticizing what he sees as sensationalism and “hot takes” in sports media. He admitted to not watching shows like “Undisputed,” claiming that people send him clips of controversial segments.
“We got so many idiots fools and jackasses on television now, everybody has to have a hot take,” Barkley ranted before urging everyone to stop measuring Patrick Mahomes with Tom Brady or Andy Reid with Bill Belichick.
“Let me tell you how stupid some of these guys are on television,” Barkley said as he transitioned to talking about his favorite fool. “You know how much I hate Skip Bayless. I hate him with every fiber. Sometimes he makes me want to gain weight back so I can hate him with even more weight.”
Barkley’s animosity towards Bayless is well-documented, with the NBA Hall of Famer previously calling him a “punk-a–” and mocking him on the “NBA on TNT” set. Bayless, in turn, has referred to Barkley as a “clown” and expressed a desire to debate him on “Undisputed.”
In his conversation with Patrick, Barkley reiterated his strong dislike for Bayless, stating that he hates him “with every fiber” and jokingly suggesting that Bayless makes him want to gain weight so he can hate him more intensely.
