LeBron James has long flirted with the idea of transitioning to the NFL, but Charles Barkley is growing weary of the notion.
During an appearance on Inside the NFL, Barkley expressed skepticism about NBA players, including LeBron, eyeing a switch to football. He argued that the physicality of the NFL would pose significant challenges for basketball stars, emphasizing the sheer size and strength of NFL players.
Barkley bluntly stated, “They’ll kill you,” cautioning against underestimating the intensity of football compared to basketball. He dismissed the idea that former NBA players could seamlessly transition to the gridiron, emphasizing the stark differences between the two sports.

Moreover, Barkley pointed out that even if LeBron were to consider a move to the NFL, his age and physical condition might not be conducive to success. While LeBron is undeniably a remarkable athlete, Barkley highlighted the challenges of transitioning to a new sport, particularly at LeBron’s stage of career.
While the NFL has seen its share of late bloomers, Barkley contends that LeBron’s age, nearing 40, would make it exceedingly difficult for him to make a successful transition to professional football.
In Barkley’s view, while LeBron James may be a phenomenal athlete, the idea of him joining the NFL at this stage of his career may be more fantasy than reality.
