Someone may require a well-being check.
Chandler Jones, the Raiders’ defensive end, has been absent from the facility and sidelined for the first two games of the season due to what has been described as personal reasons. During this time, he has been making unusual criticisms of the team via social media.
His most recent accusations, directed at Raiders owner Mark Davis, have raised concerns.
In a series of tweets, Jones expressed his frustration with Mark Davis and his desire for transparency. He wrote, “I wish mark Davis told the ppl why I really can’t play,” Jones wrote. “I think I know why , but I want y’all to ask him. Only reason I’m here because the raiders still haven’t contacted me or a rep of mine. I’ll let him say it to the public not me lmao. I’ve made over 100M, not money at all, I just wanna play Sunday.. well I’m actually missing another game and losing money. I wish I could play with my brothers, but marky mark is holding a huge secret that only I know! That’s why I was asking for my protection sorry if I sound scared because I’m not lol, when I found out I was lol. I won’t tell I just wanna play, but if I don’t play, I tell EVERYONE. Not about football anymore brother, let him tell you what he’s been doing lol. He can’t cut me, I have proof of his reps saying I’m under contract, and they want me on the team.. but not playing right now. Lol.”
He then posted a concerning statement about someone allegedly harming his Goddaughter.
If any part of these claims is accurate, the NFL may need to conduct an investigation, as it appears that a significant controversy may be unfolding.
There has been speculation that Jones might be grappling with a mental health issue, but no official confirmation has been provided. Jones was inactive for the Raiders’ Week 1 victory against the Broncos and is also sidelined for their current matchup with the Bills. It remains uncertain when or if Jones will return to the field.
Given Jones’ allegations against Davis, it raises questions about whether the NFLPA (NFL Players Association) will become involved in this matter.
