Andy Reid’s culinary interests go beyond cheeseburgers, according to celebrity chef Michael Mina, a San Francisco 49ers fan.
Mina revealed that Reid, the head coach of the Kansas City Chiefs, became friends with him after ordering a lobster pot pie at one of his restaurants in Orange County.
This revelation surprised ESPN’s Adam Schefter, who jokingly mentioned Reid’s well-known affinity for cheeseburgers.
“I think we became friends because of a lobster pot pie. I think that’s how we became friends” Mina told Schefter. “He comes to my restaurant in Orange County, and the first time he came in, he had the lobster pot pie.”

Despite his diverse tastes, Reid’s love for cheeseburgers has been a recurring theme, with players gifting him a cheeseburger after a Christmas Eve victory, and Reid expressing his appreciation for the gesture.
As the Chiefs head coach, Reid will be aiming for another championship celebration, this time in Las Vegas. Despite their friendship, Mina remains loyal to his 49ers.
