Following a challenging rookie season in the NFL, Carolina Panthers quarterback Bryce Young is determined to bounce back under the guidance of new head coach Dave Canales.
Struggling throughout his inaugural year, Young endured a difficult campaign as the Panthers finished with a dismal 2-15 record, the worst in the league, with Young starting in nearly every game.
With the appointment of Dave Canales as the new coach, Young is optimistic about his second NFL season, expressing his belief in personal growth and learning from past experiences during Super Bowl week interviews with TMZ. He emphasized his eagerness to enhance his skills during the offseason, signaling hope for improvement in his sophomore year.
‘I feel like I’ve grown… I’ve learned,’ Young told TMZ during Super Bowl week. ‘I’m excited to improve this offseason. Get better at some things. I’m excited for Year 2.’

Despite the setbacks of the previous season, Young’s confidence remains unwavering, a sentiment likely to invigorate Panthers fans as they look towards the future.
Young’s NFL debut against the Atlanta Falcons in Week 1 last September saw him throw two interceptions but also marked his first career touchdown pass to Hayden Hurst. Despite missing only one game due to a sprained ankle in Week 3, Young retained the starting role throughout the season despite the team’s poor performance.
Following the dismissal of coach Frank Reich in November, interim coach Chris Tabor took over but was unable to significantly alter the team’s fortunes.
Now, Canales steps in as the new head coach, arriving after a stint as the offensive coordinator for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. However, his tenure begins with a challenge in the draft, as Carolina forfeited its first overall pick to Chicago to select Young at No. 1 last year. Consequently, the Panthers will make their first selection at No. 33 overall, followed by another pick at No. 65.
