Cam Newton is involved in a legal dispute with his ex-girlfriend and mother of his four children, Shakia ‘Kia’ Proctor, over the return of his 2017 Bentley Bentayga.
Newton claims that he allowed Proctor to use the vehicle while they were in a relationship, but now that they have broken up, she is refusing to give it back. Newton purchased the Bentley in 2018 and it is registered in his name.
“In 2019, the relationship ended, and [Proctor] moved out of [Newton’s] residence,” the lawsuit said.
“As part of the moveout process, [Newton] allowed [Proctor] to use the Car to move her things out of Plaintiff’s residence with the understanding that the Car would be promptly returned,” the suit read. “[Proctor] never returned the vehicle to [Newton] after she moved out of [Newton’s] residence.”

Despite allowing Proctor to use it temporarily, she has not returned it since moving out of Newton’s residence in 2019.
As a result, Newton has filed a lawsuit to assert his ownership and right to possess the car.
This is not the first legal dispute between the former couple, as Proctor previously claimed that Newton had not paid utilities for her home, resulting in a court order for him to provide financial support.
Given the involvement of their children, the situation may continue to escalate.
