The Tennessee Titans made waves in free agency on Wednesday by securing Calvin Ridley with a lucrative four-year, $92 million contract, with $50 million guaranteed—a move that caught many off guard.
Ridley’s addition to the Titans’ roster may not drastically alter their prospects, but it does fulfill his desire for a substantial payday.
The wide receiver appeared to be enjoying his newfound wealth, as evidenced by a video of him in a mall, laden with shopping bags.

Ridley’s journey to Tennessee follows a turbulent period in 2022 when he was traded to the Jacksonville Jaguars by the Atlanta Falcons, amidst a suspension for violating the NFL’s sports betting policy. However, he returned to action in 2023, featuring in all 17 games for the Jaguars and accumulating 76 catches for 1,016 receiving yards.
Although Ridley acknowledged making bets totaling $1,500, he has denied having a gambling problem.
Initially expressing a desire to stay with the Jaguars in 2024 due to established relationships and familiarity with the offensive system, Ridley ultimately opted for the Titans, swayed by the allure of financial incentives.
