As the 2024 NFL Draft approaches on April 25, Williams is widely regarded as a surefire candidate to be selected first overall by the Chicago Bears. This anticipation stems from the Bears acquiring the top pick from the Carolina Panthers, who traded it as part of a deal to select Bryce Young first overall in the previous year’s draft.

Speculation arose regarding whether the Bears would opt for a non-quarterback selection with the No. 1 pick or explore trading options. In his final collegiate season, Williams boasted impressive statistics, completing 68.6 percent of his pass attempts for 3,633 yards and 30 touchdowns, with only five interceptions. Additionally, he contributed 136 rushing yards and 11 rushing scores.
