Caleb Williams arrived at the NFL Draft accompanied by a mystery blonde who has now been identified as Alina Thyregod.
The spotlight on Williams intensified when Thyregod, who was seen in a previous video with the quarterback that flew somewhat under the radar, posted a new TikTok video captioned “Draft day” showing their preparations for the event.
Williams, who has taken over as the starting quarterback for the Chicago Bears following the trade of Justin Fields to the Pittsburgh Steelers, is already making connections with his new teammates. Notably, he reached out to fourth-round draft pick, punter Tory Taylor, humorously hinting that Taylor might not see much action due to the offensive strategy he plans to bring.
Furthermore, Williams is set to undergo a number change as he steps into his role with the Bears. At USC, he wore No. 13, but he will switch to No. 18 out of respect for veteran teammate Keenan Allen. On the ‘Parkins & Spiegel Show,’ Williams shared, “I went away from 13 because there’s a 13-year vet here, Hall of Famer, named Keenan Allen. It was a quick and easy talk. I just asked him what he’s going to do. I didn’t discuss or fight about it. I have respect for, like I said, a 13-year vet. That’s how that went down.”
Stepping away from number 13 may also be seen as avoiding bad luck, especially pertinent given the infamous quarterback curse the Bears have struggled with, failing to develop a franchise quarterback for decades.
Additionally, the Bears have never had a quarterback achieve 4,000 passing yards in a single season, presenting Williams with a significant challenge as he begins his career in Chicago.
