The hate for Caitlin Clark keeps on coming.
Indiana Fever star Aliyah Boston delivered a powerful statement to WNBA fans as the 2024 season approaches, addressing the negativity she has encountered on social media.
Boston, a former Stanford standout, expressed her frustration on X (formerly known as Twitter) over the disrespectful comments aimed at players. “At some point, we have to accept the fact that this isn’t fan bases vs. fan bases; this is pure hatred in people’s hearts. I clicked on a person’s profile today because they were being disrespectful…and their banner was a picture of me crying after a Stanford loss,” she shared in a social media thread.
She pointed out the irony of such hatred, noting her achievements following the loss. “It’s weird that they have so much hate in their hearts because after that Stanford loss I was a natty champ, multi-defensive POY, #1 pick in the WNBA draft, Rookie of the Year, and more. But yet, people are praying on other people’s downfall.”

Boston emphasized the humanity of WNBA players and athletes in general, urging fans to recognize that athletes are just as human as anyone else. “At the end of the day, we are humans and we are ALL trying to make it. Most of y’all that are hating haven’t been blessed with the skills that we have, and that may be a big reason that you are hating but it has to stop. Why can’t we all shine?”
She also called for a shift away from the toxicity that overshadows the sport, stating, “This is more than healthy competition at this point. We are trying to grow the game and this is not the best way of doing it. Stop hating and just support. Also, when you see people just tweeting nonsense don’t engage because they are looking for clicks and attention.”
Boston’s candid remarks aim to challenge and hopefully change the current discourse, advocating for a more supportive and less antagonistic fan environment.
