Given the week Indiana Fever guard Caitlin Clark had, it’s understandable she was in the mood to lighten the mood during her latest game.
The Fever faced the formidable Las Vegas Aces, the two-time defending WNBA champions, on Saturday. Despite the tough matchup, the game was notably Clark’s first opportunity to compete against her former college teammate and now Las Vegas guard, Kate Martin.
Clark embraced the moment with a humorously intense expression as Martin advanced the ball during the game, which the Aces won convincingly, 99-80. It was a stark contrast to just a couple of months ago when the pair were key players leading Iowa to the national championship game.

Navigating her first professional season, Clark contributed eight points, five rebounds, and seven assists, despite the loss. Martin, on the other hand, had a slightly better game, scoring 12 points and grabbing six rebounds.
With a 1-6 record, the Fever will be looking to regroup as they head back home to face the Los Angeles Sparks on Tuesday.
