Apparently Team USA is all good on shooters.
According to sources including Shams Charania, Joe Vardon, Mark Puleo, Ben Pickman, and Chantel Jennings of The Athletic, Indiana Fever rookie Caitlin Clark is not expected to make the United States women’s basketball team for the upcoming Paris Olympics.
The selection appears to favor experienced Olympic veterans.
The 12-member roster is set to feature Napheesa Collier, Kahleah Copper, Brittney Griner, Sabrina Ionescu, Jewell Loyd, Kelsey Plum, Breanna Stewart, Diana Taurasi, Alyssa Thomas, Chelsea Gray, A’ja Wilson, and Jackie Young, as reported by The Athletic.

Of these, Copper, Ionescu, and Thomas are poised to make their Olympic debuts. Team USA has been dominant in Olympic basketball since 1996, securing seven consecutive gold medals.
Although Clark was invited to the Team USA training camp in March, she could not participate due to her commitments with Iowa in the Final Four at that time. She is likely to be named as an Olympic alternate.
Recently, Clark showcased her talent in a game against the Washington Mystics, hitting seven three-pointers and tying her career high with 30 points. As the WNBA’s top draft pick, she has been averaging 15.6 points and shooting 29.7% from three-point range.
