Indiana Fever’s rising star, Caitlin Clark, is openly enthusiastic about the prospect of joining forces with the Chicago Sky’s Angel Reese at the 2024 WNBA All-Star Game, an event that will highlight the league’s best talents in a showcase at the Footprint Center in Phoenix on July 20.
Speaking to Matthew Byrne of ClutchPoints on Sunday, Clark conveyed a mix of hope and realism regarding the potential collaboration. “There are a lot of hypotheticals involved,” Clark stated. “I think both of us are primarily focused on our current responsibilities in the league—just playing the best basketball we can. If it turns out we both get selected for the All-Star Game, that would be fantastic. It would certainly be an exciting opportunity as we have never played together before.”
As a newcomer to the WNBA, Clark shared that she is still getting familiar with the nuances of how selections are made for the All-Star team. “I’m fairly new to this, so I’m still figuring out the selection process for the All-Star team. I understand that the fan vote plays a significant role, but it’s not the sole criterion. There are other factors that are considered,” she explained. “Angel has had a remarkable season, and if we were both selected, I’m confident that it would be a highlight for the fans.”

The unique format of this year’s WNBA All-Star Game will feature Team USA’s Olympic squad against a team of All-Stars not chosen for the Olympic team.
Despite their impressive performances, neither Clark nor Reese has been named to Team USA, focusing greater attention on their potential participation in the All-Star Game itself.
In terms of fan support, Clark is a notable standout, receiving the second-most All-Star votes at 216,427, just slightly behind Las Vegas Aces’ A’ja Wilson who leads with 217,773 votes.
Reese also demonstrated strong fan backing, securing a respectable seventh place with 118,490 votes in the initial tally.
This possible pairing of Caitlin Clark and Angel Reese in the All-Star Game not only excites fans but also signals the emergence of new talent poised to influence the future trajectory of the WNBA.
The anticipation of such a union between two of the league’s burgeoning talents underscores the vibrant and evolving nature of women’s professional basketball.
