Indiana Fever star Caitlin Clark has been spending time back home in Iowa while the WNBA is on hiatus during the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris.
The former Iowa Hawkeyes superstar recently paid a visit to Des Moines North High School, where she met with fans and generously provided students with school supplies and Nike backpacks.
Clark’s charity, the Caitlin Clark Foundation, sponsored the event, distributing school supplies and backpacks to approximately 350 high school students. Clark was seen sharing laughs with the students, posing for pictures, and personally handing out the backpacks.
The 350 students later gathered in the gymnasium, where Clark was introduced by the school’s principal. She addressed the students from a small stage, offering words of encouragement and sharing her experiences.
The Caitlin Clark Foundation’s mission is “to uplift and improve the lives of youth and their communities through education, nutrition, and sport.” Since its founding in October 2023, the foundation has launched several initiatives, including the Stock Up Campaign, Warm Up Campaign, Gear Up Campaign, and Fuel Up Campaign, all aimed at serving the youth in Iowa.
The WNBA is set to return to action in mid-August, with Clark and the Fever scheduled to face off against the Phoenix Mercury in their first game back on Friday, August 16.
Not selected for the Olympic squad, Clark chose to spend her time off the court in Des Moines, giving back to the community.
Clark’s visit to Des Moines North High School is just one example of her ongoing commitment to making a positive impact.
Her efforts through the Caitlin Clark Foundation demonstrate her dedication to supporting and inspiring the next generation, using her platform to foster growth and development in her home state.
