Is Minnesota Vikings quarterback Kirk Cousins heading south?
According to Atlanta’s WSB-Channel 2 reporter Zach Klein, the buzz around the NFL scouting combine in Indianapolis is that Cousins will sign with the Atlanta Falcons in free agency.

Here’s what Klein said when he went on Dukes & Bell, an Atlanta sports radio station:
“Everybody I’ve talked to says the logical thing is a veteran move, all eyes, all arrows, everything points to Kirk Cousins. Arthur Blank has basically told his front office staff ‘Do what you got to do, pay what you got to pay, get it done. Everybody that I’ve talked to, agents, other coaches and scouts, guys around the league, that’s the feeling and that’s what they are hearing. The Falcons are putting all their attention on Cousins.”
This is a major development as the Falcons have been regarded as the heavy favorite to land quarterback Justin Fields from the Chicago Bears in a potential trade.
Of course, if the Falcons do sign Cousins then a trade for Fields will be off the table.
The 35-year-old Cousins is projected to receive a multi-year contract worth about $45 million per year.
