Cleveland Browns standout David Njoku played a pivotal role in celebrating the team’s clinching of a playoff spot on Thursday night. The Browns secured a playoff berth, only their second since 2002, with a 37-20 victory over the New York Jets on Thursday Night Football in Cleveland.
Njoku, whose heroics contributed to the win with six catches for 134 yards, joined Browns fans in celebrating the victory. He was seen in the parking lot outside the stadium doing a shot, surrounded by a group of supporters. The tight end further fueled the celebration inside the stadium, hurdling the barrier to enter the stands, where he chugged a beer handed to him by a fan in front of the enthusiastic Cleveland crowd.

Despite missing star Amari Cooper, the Browns performed well, with Njoku stepping up to fill the void left by the wide receiver. Quarterback Joe Flacco, who has been with the Browns for just over a month, delivered an impressive performance, passing for 309 yards and three touchdowns. The 38-year-old quarterback, acquired by the Browns from his couch in New Jersey last month, improved to 4-1 as a starter with the team.
Flacco’s impact has been significant, reviving the Browns’ season, and the veteran quarterback was rewarded when fans chanted ‘Flac-co! Flac-co!’ in the final minutes of the game. The Browns, with an 11-5 record, have secured a wild-card spot and are still in contention for the AFC North title and the conference’s No. 1 overall seed.
This momentous occasion for Njoku comes after a challenging season, having suffered burns to 17 percent of his body and almost losing his eyesight in a bonfire accident. Despite these serious injuries and extreme pain, Njoku played in the game against Baltimore just two days after the accident, finishing with a team-high six catches.
