Last year, the Cleveland Browns selected LSU kicker Cade York in the fourth round of the draft in hopes of improving their kicking game.
However, York’s performance last season was inconsistent, making 24 of 32 field goals and missing two extra points.
Unfortunately, his struggles continued on Thursday when he missed two potential game-winning field goals against the Eagles.
In a concerning turn of events, Browns kicker Cade York deleted a social media post that had previously celebrated a successful kick.
During the game against Philadelphia, York converted three out of four field goal attempts, including one in the first half. However, following the disappointing tie, the post highlighting his successful kick was mysteriously removed.

York had an opportunity to kick the winning field goal with just two minutes remaining in the game, however, he failed to do so on two occasions.
During Thursday’s preseason game in Philadelphia, York missed a 47-yard attempt wide right, which would have secured victory for his team.

Despite an Eagles penalty granting him another shot, York once again failed to capitalize.
“Cade’s our kicker,” said Stefanski, who noted the Browns would not be bringing another kicker into training camp for now. “We support him. We have a ton of confidence in him. That’s really as simple as that.”
“Now’s the time to work on our craft,” Stefanski said. “Kickers want to make every kick. We want Cade to make every kick. You just got to continue to work through it. … The kid works very hard. He’ll continue to do that.”
This poor performance in the final moments of the game is unlikely to alleviate the concerns of Browns fans, who have already witnessed his struggles throughout the preseason.

In the previous week’s game against Washington, York had already missed a 46-yard field goal.
“This is just one of those things that does not happen anywhere else,” Jackson tweeted. “York has said before that he doesn’t do his own social media. So who knows what happened but either way it’s just an absolutely not. And not an exaggeration to say they were two minutes from getting out of Philly with pretty good vibes before those misses.”
Perhaps he should refrain from sharing posts on social media until he can successfully complete his responsibilities on the field.
