The timing of golfer Brooks Koepka’s Instagram post, paying tribute to his wife Jena Sims just moments after news broke of fellow golfer Rory McIlroy’s divorce filing from Erica Stoll, has sparked speculation among fans.
Some are suggesting that Koepka may be employing “mind games” by strategically posting the tribute at that particular moment.
“So proud of you @jenamsims amazing to see what hard work can do! I love you!” he captioned a photo of his model wife from her Sports Illustrated Swimsuit shoot, which dropped today.
Koepka’s timely gesture has led to speculation about potential psychological tactics aimed at McIlroy, given their competitive rivalry on the golf course.
While it’s unclear whether Koepka’s post was indeed intended to send a message to McIlroy, the timing has certainly caught the attention of fans and added another layer of intrigue to their relationship both on and off the golf course.

With the PGA Championship just days away, fans are convinced that Koepka was trying to get to McIlroy with this post.
News broke early Tuesday morning that McIlroy had filed for divorce from Stoll.
“According to TMZ, McIlroy filed for divorce from his wife Erica (née Stoll) in a Florida court on Monday, ending their marriage of just over seven years. They first met during the Ryder Cup in 2012 when Erica was a PGA of America employee and began their romantic relationship after McIlroy ended his engagement with tennis star Caroline Wozniacki in 2014.”
“Rory and Erica got engaged in 2015 and married in 2017. They welcomed their daughter Poppy, their only child, in 2020.”
Currently, McIlroy’s odds to win the PGA Championship are at +750 on DraftKings Sportsbook which trails only Scottie Scheffler at +400.
Koepka’s odds to win are +1600 which is tied for fourth best with Jon Rahm.
