Does Bronny James even want to play with LeBron?
Draft hopeful Bronny James has emphasized his desire to carve out his own legacy in the NBA, separate from his father, Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James.
“My dream has always just been to put my name out, make a name for myself, and, of course, get to the NBA,” James said during his combine interview on Tuesday, according to The Athletic’s Mike Vorkunov.
He added, “I’ve never thought about playing with my dad, but of course, he’s brought it up a couple of times.”

LeBron has previously expressed his hope to play alongside his son before retiring.
Bronny, a 6-foot-1 freshman guard from USC, impressed NBA scouts with his drills and athletic testing on Monday, according to ESPN’s Jonathan Givony.
The 19-year-old’s 40.5-inch vertical jump was the fourth highest among all combine participants. He was also the second-most accurate shooter in the 3-point star shooting drill, trailing only UConn forward Alex Karaban.
However, James struggled to replicate his performance during his first scrimmage on Tuesday, going 2-of-8 from the field for just four points in nearly 20 minutes of play.
He is ranked No. 98 in ESPN’s top 100 prospects for the 2024 draft.
The draft will be a two-day event this year, with the first round taking place on June 26 and the second round on the following day.
The Lakers hold the 55th pick.
