Jackson Mahomes, the sibling of Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes, made a court appearance after being accused of sexual assault. An affidavit detailed three instances earlier this year where Mahomes allegedly kissed a woman against her will after forcefully grabbing her by the neck. The incidents purportedly occurred at Aspens Restaurant and Lounge in Overland Park, Kansas, on February 25. During a brief hearing, a Johnson County judge permitted Mahomes to communicate with three of the four witnesses, who are his friends, and modified his bond agreement. Mahomes declined to speak about the case before or after the hearing and was released on bail after putting up $100,000.
The hearing followed a day where a redacted affidavit added further specifics about the alleged Aspen Vaughn’s assault, the owner of the restaurant where it occurred. The document stated that when a waiter tried to enter the room Mahomes was in, Mahomes pushed the waiter. Afterward, he purportedly forcibly kissed Vaughn three times without her consent after grabbing her neck. Additionally, the victim reportedly informed police that Mahomes often caused issues in the restaurant and was acquainted with her stepdaughter, leading to previous removal requests.

“As you get older you start to understand the difference between friends and associates, family and blood, business and work, love and lust, want and need. And most of all what’s important and what’s not,” one message read.
“Unfortunately, a lot of y’all met me when I lacked boundaries and was a people pleaser. Let me reintroduce myself, I burn bridges as needed,” another read.
She added, “Sheesh” with a clapping-hand emoji.
Although two servers nearby didn’t hear her pleas for help, they later confirmed that she had mentioned the alleged assault and revealed a bruise on her neck. Finally, according to the affidavit, Mahomes requested that Vaughn keep the incident secret and offered to assist her business due to his significant social media presence as a TikTok and Instagram influencer. When Vaughn’s boyfriend became aware of the potential assault, he instructed Mahomes and his group to leave the restaurant.
“Jackson has done nothing wrong,” Davies told the Kansas City Star. “Our investigation has revealed substantial evidence refuting the claims of Jackson’s accuser, including the statements of several witnesses. We have reached out to law enforcement to provide the fruit of our investigation so that they may have a complete picture of the matter.”
