Boston Celtics center Kristaps Porzingis showcased his resilience during Game 2 of the NBA Finals at TD Garden, where the Celtics clinched a 105-98 victory over the Dallas Mavericks on Sunday night.
Porzingis experienced what appeared to be a right leg injury in the fourth quarter, prompting concern among fans especially given his previous month-long absence due to a right calf strain.
However, Celtics coach Joe Mazzulla dismissed concerns about Porzingis’s condition postgame, asserting he had “zero concern” about his player’s status moving forward. Porzingis himself demonstrated his determination in a postgame media session.

When asked about the difficulty of continuing to play through the injury, Porzingis’s response was striking: “Not difficult at all, I’ll die out there,” he declared.
Despite briefly leaving the game to visit the locker room, Porzingis managed to contribute significantly in his 23 minutes on the court. He posted 12 points, four rebounds, two blocks, and an assist, helping Boston to extend their series lead to 2-0.
The 7’2″ center reassured everyone about his condition later on, stating, “I’m feeling good. Yeah, I don’t think it’s anything serious, but we’ll look at it tomorrow and go from there. But all good.”
The NBA Finals now move to the American Airlines Center for Game 3, scheduled to start at 8:30 p.m. ET on Wednesday night, with Porzingis playing a crucial role in Boston’s championship aspirations.
