The “NFL Today” crew from CBS reportedly encountered a conspiracy theorist at a Baltimore train station over the weekend, leading to a heated verbal altercation.
Boomer Esiason, recounting the incident on Monday’s WFAN radio show, expressed frustration and admitted he was close to physical confrontation.
According to Esiason, most Ravens fans at the stadium were friendly, but one individual approached the CBS crew to discuss his belief that the NFL is rigged, using colorful language. Esiason mentioned feeling angered and said, “Listen, if he gets any closer, I may have to get up and effing smash this guy right in the face.” He further noted that a nearby person attempted to defuse the situation, advising the fan to leave them alone.
Eventually, another Ravens fan joined in, yelling at the individual, and the police intervened.
While the incident remained a verbal altercation without further escalation, Esiason expressed frustration, emphasizing the need for some fans to maintain composure.
The transition of online conspiracy theories into real-world incidents is a cause for concern and underscores the potential impact and influence these theories can have beyond digital spaces.
