Renowned sports announcer Bob Costas has been unreservedly critical of both Donald Trump and Joe Biden, expressing his dissatisfaction with the current political landscape.
Costas, celebrated for his illustrious broadcasting career, did not mince words when discussing the Democratic Party’s decision to support Biden for re-election in 2024.
In a recent appearance on CNN, Costas lambasted Biden for his candidacy, asserting that by choosing to run again, Biden missed an opportunity to be perceived as a statesman and a patriot. He lamented that Biden’s legacy might now be tarnished by the prospect of either barely defeating Trump or facing another four years of what he described as “insanity.”
Despite acknowledging Biden’s decency and service to the country, Costas expressed skepticism about Biden’s ability to contend with Trump. While recognizing that rational individuals would likely vote for Biden over Trump, he cautioned against underestimating the risks involved, portraying Trump as a formidable adversary not to be underestimated.

“Biden is obviously on-balance a decent man. He’s served his country. And no matter what, sane people will vote for him over Donald Trump,” Costas added in his interview on CNN. “But it’s a hell of a risk. Trump is a monster. You shouldn’t send this guy [Biden] out there at this point in his life to slay the dragon.”
Costas didn’t hold back in his critique of Trump either, labeling him as “the most disgraceful figure in modern presidential history.” He characterized Trump as a volatile concoction of despicable traits, emphasizing that only those afflicted by what he termed “Trump Derangement Syndrome” would overlook Trump’s significant flaws.
In Costas’s view, supporting Trump necessitates being entrenched in a toxic delusion and subscribing to a harmful cult mentality. He firmly asserted that Trump has never possessed the requisite emotional, psychological, intellectual, or ethical qualifications to serve as president of the United States.
