Buffalo Bills kicker Tyler Bass opened up about his critical miss against the Kansas City Chiefs in the Divisional Round on Sunday night.
With the game seemingly headed to overtime, Bass had a chance to tie the scores at 27-27 with less than two minutes remaining but missed a 44-yard field goal wide right.
In the locker room after the heartbreaking loss, Bass took responsibility, acknowledging the need for improvement. Unfortunately, he faced a barrage of death threats on social media following the defeat, leading him to deactivate all his accounts.
“I gotta do a better job, totally on me,” he said, adding he got “nothing but love” from his teammates following the miss.
“It’s completely on me,” he also told the Bills’ official website. “I’ve got to do a better job of getting through to my target. I’ve got to do a better job of playing it a little bit more left when you have a left to right [wind]. I’ve been here long enough to know that you have to do that.”
