It seems that Steve Belichick is exploring new career opportunities following his father’s departure from the New England Patriots.
Bill Belichick and the team parted ways after the 2023 NFL season, and now Steve Belichick, the outside linebacker’s coach and former defensive playcaller, is reportedly interviewing for a position in college football.
According to ESPN’s Field Yates, Steve Belichick is in discussions for a role on the University of Washington’s defensive team. Yates mentioned that Belichick has been calling plays for the Patriots’ defense for the past four seasons, and his fellow coach, Vinnie Sunseri, is also interviewing for defensive positions at the University of Washington.
While Steve Belichick has been with the Patriots since joining as a defensive assistant in 2012, it seems he is exploring potential opportunities beyond the NFL. Despite an offer from Patriots head coach Jerod Mayo for a role on the team, Belichick seems to be considering a new path.
