Brian Belichick has reached a decision regarding his future with the New England Patriots.
According to ESPN’s Mike Reiss, Belichick will be staying with the New England Patriots. However, the team has yet to announce his specific role.
Earlier projections from Reiss suggested that Belichick might take on the role of safeties coach. Belichick has been serving as the Patriots’ safeties coach since 2020.
Brian Belichick, the younger of Bill Belichick’s two sons, was part of his father’s coaching staff with the Patriots and was given the option to continue with the team. While his older brother Steve opted to depart and become the defensive coordinator for Jedd Fisch’s staff at the Washington Huskies, Brian has decided to stay.
Over the past four years, Brian has collaborated closely with the new head coach, Jerod Mayo, and is expected to maintain that relationship going forward.
Brian’s tenure with the Patriots began in 2016 as a scouting assistant. He then progressed to a coaching assistant role for three years before assuming the position of safeties coach in 2020.
