Bill Belichick is set to have a busy 2024, though not from his usual place on an NFL sideline.
The former New England Patriots head coach is diving into multiple media roles, yet this shift should not be interpreted as a sign that he’s stepping away from coaching for good.
During an appearance on “The Rich Eisen Show” on Tuesday, NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero emphasized that Belichick is fully intent on returning to coaching. The iconic coach is driven by the goal of breaking the all-time record for coaching wins. At the same time, he is seizing the chance to showcase a different side of himself, one that fans rarely see beyond his stern coaching facade.
“Bill Belichick intends to coach in 2025,” Pelissero stated. “He’s staying engaged in the game. He’s appearing at roasts, he’s set to feature on ‘Inside the NFL,’ and we’ve seen him at various events, from high school games to the Manning Passing Academy. He was even spotted at the University of Washington, where his son Steve is now the defensive coordinator. Belichick is actively working on improving himself and reminding everyone that he isn’t just the stoic figure many perceive him to be. His recent media engagements have already helped in that regard.”

Pelissero further elaborated, “He’s fully invested and wants to coach again. Pursuing the all-time wins record is incredibly important to him. The question of where he will coach next depends on numerous factors.”
Belichick has added another media gig to his expanding list of commitments this week. However, these roles seem to be temporary, with the intention of returning to coaching if the right opportunity arises. The speculation about where he might coach next remains just that—speculation—as it depends heavily on which positions become available.
For now, fans will see more of Belichick in the media, allowing them to experience his insights and personality in new ways. His presence in the football world remains strong, and his ambition to continue coaching and make history is as fierce as ever.
