Bill Belichick is set to join a lineup of former New England Patriots to humorously skewer Tom Brady in the upcoming live Netflix special, ‘The Roast of Tom Brady.’
The 72-year-old, who boasts six Super Bowl victories, will make his second media appearance in a week on Sunday, May 5. This follows his recent segment on ‘The Pat McAfee Show’ during the 2024 NFL Draft, as reported by Gregg Rosenthal of NFL Network.
Actor Ben Affleck, hailing from Massachusetts, is also ‘listed as probable’ to join the roast, which is part of Netflix’s comedy festival, Netflix is a Joke Fest. Other notable Patriots alumni such as Drew Bledsoe, Julian Edelman, Rob Gronkowski, and Randy Moss will participate in the event, per ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

Hosted by comedian Kevin Hart and featuring Jeff Ross, the special is scheduled for Sunday at 8 p.m. ET. Despite the comedic lineup, Brady confidently remarked in a video shared with NBC’s ‘TODAY’ show, “I played in the NFL, so I’m not worried about a bunch of comedians, trust me.”
Meanwhile, Brady, a seven-time Super Bowl champion, expressed unawareness of the full guest list for his roast.
Belichick, having departed from the Patriots in January after a historic coaching tenure, hinted at potential retirement from coaching during his Draft appearance in Detroit on ESPN. He announced plans to be a weekly guest on ‘The Pat McAfee’ Show throughout the 2024 season.
Despite links to head coaching positions with teams like the Atlanta Falcons, L.A. Chargers, and Dallas Cowboys, Belichick remains unattached.
Last week marked a new era for the Patriots as they picked former UNC quarterback Drake May as the No. 3 overall pick in the NFL Draft, the first draftee of the post-Belichick era.
Belichick’s legacy includes an impressive 302-165 career record with the Patriots and Cleveland Browns, alongside his six championships with Brady, who also regarded him as a father figure.
