The NFL rejected the appeal from Dom DiSandro, the chief security officer for the Philadelphia Eagles, against his sideline ban and $100,000 fine on Friday, as reported by Rob Maaddi of The Associated Press.
Fortunately for DiSandro, the Eagles took care of covering the $100,000 fine, a customary practice for teams in support of their staff members.
DiSandro gained notoriety for his involvement in an altercation with San Francisco 49ers linebacker Dre Greenlaw during the Eagles’ 42–19 loss on December 3. Greenlaw received an unnecessary roughness penalty and a $10,927 fine.
At 45 years old, DiSandro, who has been with the Eagles since 1999, will be absent from the sideline for the remainder of the regular season. However, he will be eligible to return for the playoffs.

Despite the Eagles currently enduring a three-game losing streak, they have already secured a playoff spot with a 10–4 record. DiSandro can make a triumphant comeback to the sideline for the team’s first playoff game.
This season, “Big Dom” has unexpectedly become a household name among NFL fans, a development no one could have foreseen.
