This unexpected celebrity feud caught everyone off guard.
Bethenny Frankel responded to criticism from Travis Kelce’s father, Ed Kelce, by addressing his remarks and expressing her perspective on the matter. On her “Just B” podcast episode aired Tuesday, the “Real Housewives of New York” alum acknowledged Ed’s defense of his son but wished for a more constructive expression of opinion rather than resorting to verbal insults.
Frankel clarified her previous comments about Travis Kelce and his relationship with Taylor Swift, characterizing Kelce as a “peacock” based on her observations. She maintained her stance on this characterization while explaining that her intention wasn’t to criticize their relationship but rather to express her views.
“I just wish he would’ve expressed an opinion versus just a verbal insult. As we teach our kids, it’s better to express ourselves than just criticize.”
Acknowledging her own protective instincts as a mother, Frankel found Ed Kelce’s insult toward her as excessive. She likened his action to Travis’s physical altercation with Chief Coach Andy Reid during the 2024 Super Bowl match, suggesting that both instances lacked constructive communication.
“I wasn’t even criticizing their relationship,” she explained. “I was saying, usually there’s only one peacock in a relationship, and I dated a guy like that. That was very over the top and very you know, just like loud and gregarious and like needed to be the center of attention.”
“And I stand by that. I think that’s who Travis is,” the former reality star quipped.

Frankel defended her right to express her opinions about the celebrity couple, asserting her independence as a grown adult. She maintained her viewpoint that relationships involving two “peacocks” typically encounter challenges and expressed her hopes for Kelce and Swift’s happiness, should they desire a future together.
“Calling me a troll, which of course is amazing clickbait and yay for Travis Kelce’s dad,” she said
Frankel’s response came after Ed Kelce shared her comments on Facebook, questioning her identity as a “troll.” Ed, a vocal supporter of his son’s relationship with Swift, has been visible at Chiefs games alongside the Grammy-winning singer, praising her demeanor.
In her podcast, Frankel addressed the situation, asserting her right to hold and express her opinions while also reflecting on the nature of constructive dialogue versus verbal attacks.
