Will the Bears stick with Justin Fields or opt for a new quarterback with the No. 1 pick?
This question is on the lips of many in the Windy City, with opinions divided.
Brad Biggs, writing for the Chicago Tribune, has weighed in on the Bears’ quarterback dilemma. His stance suggests that Fields may not retain the starting role come fall.

“From my perspective, there is no internal debate in which the Bears are kicking around the idea of keeping Justin Fields versus drafting a quarterback,” Briggs wrote. “I believe the work being done is to determine which quarterback they should select. So the whole Fields versus Caleb Williams debate is a pointless exercise.”
Additionally, it’s speculated that Chicago could secure a valuable draft pick through a trade involving Fields.
Fields recently completed his third season with the Bears, displaying promise with 2,562 passing yards, 657 rushing yards, and 20 total touchdowns across 13 games. Despite notable progress, the Bears might opt for a fresh start under a rookie quarterback contract.
In recent months, speculation has linked Caleb Williams to the Bears, a narrative likely to persist. However, contenders like Drake Maye or Jayden Daniels could also emerge as strong candidates for Chicago’s quarterback position.
