It’s a surreal thought to consider that Bill Belichick, after his remarkable run with the New England Patriots, may not be in the NFL in 2024.
Despite the ongoing coaching cycle, Belichick has had only two interviews, both with the Atlanta Falcons, who eventually opted for another candidate.
This scarcity of interest in one of the most successful coaches in NFL history prompted Baltimore Ravens cornerback Marlon Humphrey to openly taunt Belichick, suggesting that the lack of job offers is an indictment of his legacy.

“The ‘greatest coach of all time’ did not get hired out of six Head Coaching jobs open,” Humphrey wrote. “I think that debate can be put to rest now.”
The once-perfect duo of Belichick and Tom Brady dominated the league for two decades, accumulating an impressive record.
However, since Brady’s departure, the Patriots have struggled, and Belichick, now 71, faces uncertainty about his coaching future. Even if he decides to sit out a season and return at 72, there’s no guarantee that a team would be willing to bring on a coach of his age.
Certainly, Bill Belichick will be remembered as one of the greatest coaches in the history of the NFL. However, since parting ways with Tom Brady, there’s no denying that he has experienced a decline in the luster of his reputation.
