The UCONN basketball team concluded the 2024 season in triumphant fashion, clinching their second consecutive national championship by defeating Purdue in a decisive 75-60 victory.
Interestingly, a contingent of Arizona State supporters had the unique opportunity to witness UCONN’s triumph firsthand, as they filled in the student ticket allotment that remained unfilled by Husky fans.
Dressed in blue and white attire, these Sun Devils fervently cheered on the champions, with some even crafting their own custom Husky shirts, deeming the Final Four experience as the “experience of a lifetime.”

Cronkite News provided further insight into the situation before the commencement of the game. Purdue was the sole Final Four school to completely fill its student ticket allotment, leaving empty seats that were graciously filled by Arizona college students, resulting in chants of “ASU, ASU” amidst the UCONN line to enter the venue.
It was discovered that Arizona State had a vested interest in supporting the Huskies in Phoenix, as Bobby Hurley, the head basketball coach of the Sun Devils, is none other than Dan Hurley’s brother, the coach of UCONN. This familial connection added an extra layer of significance to the support shown by the Sun Devils.
Despite being unable to make the cross-country journey to Arizona, UCONN students celebrated fervently in Storrs, Connecticut, mirroring the festivities of the previous season. The exuberant celebrations even resulted in around $128,000 in damages to the campus, showcasing the unwavering passion and spirit of the UCONN community.
As they revel in another era of dominance, UCONN will undoubtedly savor this victory just as they did the last, affirming their status as a powerhouse in collegiate basketball.
