Former Las Vegas Raiders defensive end Chandler Jones had an unusual encounter with police following his September arrest for violating a temporary protection order, as revealed in video footage obtained by TMZ Sports. During the arrest, Jones insisted that he couldn’t fit into the police cruiser, citing his height and status as a professional athlete with 112 career sacks while playing for the Raiders. He also mentioned his wealth, stating that he wouldn’t sue the officers because he’s a millionaire.
Jones was arrested in September on two counts of violating a domestic violence protection order after going to his ex-girlfriend’s home and taking items from her backyard. After leaving the property, he sent the woman videos of himself burning the items, leading to his arrest.
In the video of the arrest, Jones told officers that he was at the property to take out the trash and drop off the dumpster in the backseat. His ex-girlfriend had previously alleged that she was the victim of domestic battery by Jones, claiming that he had shoved her into a railing, although she was left uninjured.

Following his arrest, the Raiders released Jones, who had been involved in a series of incidents, including a social media tirade with unfounded claims about head coach Josh McDaniels and the Raiders organization.
He also claimed he was hospitalized “against my will” by the Las Vegas Fire Department and taken to a behavioral health facility. In journal entries shared by Jones, he expressed confusion about his actions and the concerns raised by others.
Jones, who has not played an NFL snap since the 2022 season, was arrested again last week for violating the domestic violence protection order by sending Instagram messages to his ex-girlfriend. This situation adds further challenges for Raiders fans to contend with.
