Every Division I FBS player across the nation has been extended an invitation to join EA Sports’ highly anticipated new college football game, but Texas quarterback Arch Manning has chosen to decline.
Since the initiative commenced last month, over 11,000 college football athletes from 134 FBS programs have been offered $600 for inclusion in “EA Sports College Football 25.” However, Manning has opted out, as reported by Anwar Richardson of OrangeBloods.com.
Presumably, Manning and his representatives feel that $600 and a complimentary copy of the video game do not suffice as compensation. Despite his limited playtime and projected absence from the starting lineup for Texas in 2024, Manning has already achieved considerable fame in college football due to his family legacy.

Former USC quarterback Caleb Williams remarked last year that it’s illogical for prominent college players to receive the same pay as those who may never see the field. Nonetheless, devising a payment structure based on skill and performance might not be feasible for EA Sports.
While many fans ridiculed the offer, which amounts to just $670 including the game copy, it’s expected that most players nationwide will opt in to be featured. Numerous athletes grew up playing earlier iterations of EA Sports’ NCAA football game, which hasn’t been available since 2013. Even a current NFL star quarterback expressed his aspiration to grace the game’s cover.
However, Arch Manning evidently doesn’t share the sentiment, at least not for the time being.
