Anthony Edwards was in no mood for excuses from Charles Barkley after the Minnesota Timberwolves secured their spot in the Western Conference Finals on Sunday.
The Timberwolves emerged victorious with a 98-90 win over the Denver Nuggets in Game 7 of their Western Conference semifinal series at Ball Arena in Denver, Colorado.
During a postgame interview with TNT’s “Inside the NBA” crew that quickly went viral, Edwards had a memorable exchange with Barkley. “I have not been to Minnesota in probably 20 years,” Barkley remarked. Edwards promptly responded, “Bring your ass.”

This victory marked exactly 20 years since the Timberwolves last advanced past the second round of the NBA playoffs, a feat achieved by the 2003-04 team led by the All-Star trio of Kevin Garnett, Sam Cassell, and Latrell Sprewell on May 19, 2004.
With TNT set to broadcast this year’s Western Conference Finals—an arrangement that has been in place during even-numbered years since 2004—Barkley and the rest of the “Inside the NBA” team are set to visit Minneapolis for the first time in two decades.
Though Edwards might not have shined in the Game 7 box score, the 2-time All-Star clinched the game with a crucial three-pointer that extended the Timberwolves’ lead to 10 points with just over three minutes remaining.
Edwards ended the game with 16 points, shooting 6/24, and contributed 8 rebounds and 7 assists, helping steer his team to a significant postseason victory.
