Wendi Nix, a longstanding talent at ESPN, has recently departed from the network.
After 17 years, Nix took to Instagram last week to announce her departure, expressing gratitude for her time at ESPN and her excitement for the next chapter of her career.
Colleagues and fans showed their support in the comments section. Her departure differs from the recent round of layoffs at ESPN, as her contract simply expired and was not renewed.
The network has declined to comment on the matter.

Kelsey Riggs will be taking over Nix’s hosting role on “College Football Live.”
The recent layoffs at ESPN included well-known names like Jeff Van Gundy, Todd McShay, Steve Young, Max Kellerman, Keyshawn Johnson, Nick Friedell, and Jalen Rose.
Mark Jackson was later let go, and Doris Burke and Doc Rivers replaced Van Gundy and Jackson as color commentators on the network’s top NBA announce team, alongside play-by-play broadcaster Mike Breen.
