On Tuesday, during a WNBA game between the Minnesota Lynx and the Dallas Wings, three fans were ejected after allegedly cheering for an injury.
The incident occurred when the Wings’ Satou Sabally fell to the floor in apparent pain after attempting a three-pointer in the last 30 seconds of the fourth quarter.
Reportedly, Lynx fans were seen yelling at Sabally as she remained on the ground, while the team’s trainer attended to her.
This behavior caught the attention of players, coaches, and security, and Bally Sports announcer Marney Gellner criticized one particular fan for her inappropriate actions.
Gellner expressed hope that the fan would be asked to leave, as her behavior did not reflect well on the Minnesota Lynx.
“There is a fan sitting in the second row, and she is a Lynx fan, and she has been completely inappropriate tonight,” Gellner was heard saying. “And she is yelling at a player that is hurt on the court…she’s been at it for most of the second half tonight, and I honestly hope they are asking her to leave because it has not been a good representation of Minnesota Lynx basketball at all.”

Gellner also highlighted that Wings player Arike Ogunbowale and head coach Cheryl Reeve got involved and asked the fan to stop.
Eventually, the fan was escorted out, and Gellner supported this decision.
Despite the incident, Sabally managed to get back up and make three free throws, even blowing a kiss to the Lynx fans after hitting the second.
Furthermore, officials directed security to another pair of fans, and one of them was shown on camera storming off while expressing discontent.
