During her tenure at LSU, Angel Reese established herself as a formidable presence on the court, consistently delivering double-doubles.
However, her jump shot has sparked some debate among scouts. A WNBA general manager expressed a desire to see Reese broaden her skills, particularly from beyond the arc.
Currently, Reese isn’t seen as a deep threat. “I’d like to see her evolve her game outside of 10 feet,” a GM told ESPN anonymously. “If she’s going to play the four at the pro level, I think she’s got to work on her free throws and her outside shot.”
Reese appears to be taking this feedback seriously. A recent social media video showed her practicing 3-point shots. Although her shooting form may not be the most refined, the results suggest promising potential.

Reese’s impressive stats at LSU, where she averaged 20.9 points and 14.4 rebounds per game and earned SEC Player of the Year honors last season, highlight her capabilities. In a Vogue Magazine interview, Reese shared her enthusiasm about entering the WNBA as a rookie, embracing the challenges and opportunities for growth. “I want to start at the bottom again,” she explained. “I want to be a rookie again and build myself back up; I want to be knocked down and learn and grow at the next level.”
Reese’s entry into professional basketball is eagerly anticipated, with expectations that she will be selected as a top-10 pick in the upcoming WNBA Draft this Monday.
