Reese conveyed her praise to Clark on X, the platform formerly known as Twitter, shortly after Clark notched her 3,528th point, surpassing Kelsey Plum’s previous record. “Congratulations @CaitlinClark22 KEEP BREAKING RECORDS & MAKING HER-STORY!”

The duo had shared headlines last year when LSU triumphed over Iowa with a decisive 102–85 victory in the 2023 NCAA Division I title game last April. Their encounter was infused with drama stemming from Clark’s utilization of John Cena’s “You Can’t See Me” celebration during other March Madness matchups. Reese notably mimicked this celebration against Clark during the national title game, citing it as “disrespectful” to fellow players. However, Reese faced significant backlash for her actions.
Clark addressed the controversy shortly thereafter, asserting that Reese should not be criticized for reciprocating with a taste of her own medicine.
Fast forward a year, and both Clark and Reese once again find themselves pivotal members of powerhouse teams as they gear up for March Madness.
