Angel Reese showed nothing but admiration for Caitlin Clark during this year’s WNBA All-Star Game.
The Chicago Sky forward, Reese, and her fellow rookie star, Clark, found themselves as teammates during Saturday’s All-Star Game. Both were on Team WNBA, competing against Team USA. While Clark started the game and Reese came off the bench, they shared the court for a few minutes, showcasing their budding chemistry.
During the first half, Reese was interviewed from the bench by the ESPN broadcast team. She was asked about her experience playing alongside Clark and responded with a heartfelt message.
“It’s so cool,” Reese said about playing with Clark. “When she gets the ball, I’m running to look for the ball because I know she’s gonna throw it.”
“She’s been great to play with,” Reese added. “In the future, we’re going to be playing with each other a lot. Hopefully, in four years, we can be Olympians together.”

Reese had a notable moment during the game when she hopped off the bench, ready to cheer for Clark in anticipation of a three-point shot that Clark ended up not taking. This moment highlighted the respect and enthusiasm Reese has for her teammate.
The rivalry between the two rookies, dating back to their college days at LSU and Iowa, respectively, has been intense. The competition has continued in the WNBA, with Reese recently drawing major backlash for a flagrant foul on Clark during a game last month. Despite their heated on-court history, Reese seems to harbor no ill will toward Clark herself.
Reese has expressed frustration with the media’s portrayal of their rivalry. However, her comments during the All-Star Game suggest that any animosity is more about the media narrative than personal feelings.
Reese and Clark, likely to be linked throughout their careers, appear to share mutual respect and a desire to play together in the future, perhaps even as Olympians.
