Ask Chicago Sky rookie Angel Reese where she sees herself in four years, and she has a clear vision: representing the United States as an Olympian.
Ahead of the Sky’s game against the Atlanta Dream on Wednesday, Reese fielded questions about her aspirations for the Paris Olympics. She expressed her intention to travel to Paris to watch a few Team USA women’s basketball games and shared her Olympic ambitions with reporters.
“I want to be an Olympian by 2028,” Reese confidently stated. “I think I have time to continue to grow… I take pride in everything—being able to be from the United States and wearing those three letters across your chest. So that’s something that I have as one of my goals, to be an Olympian and play with a special class and great players like the women that are playing right now.”

Despite her lofty goals, Reese remains grounded and aware of the hard work ahead.
She noted that although she has not yet discussed her Olympic ambitions with Sky coach Teresa Weatherspoon, herself an Olympian, she hopes to continue learning and growing under Weatherspoon’s guidance as she works towards 2028.
Reese’s commitment to her craft is evident in her recent accomplishments. She was named to the 12-woman Team WNBA All-Star roster earlier this month and is set to face Team USA in the 2024 All-Star Game on July 20 in Phoenix.
The former LSU standout has already made history by surpassing Candace Parker for the most consecutive double-doubles in WNBA history, achieving 13 straight.
Reese’s determination and talent suggest a promising future, both in the WNBA and potentially on the international stage. Her goal to become an Olympian by 2028 highlights her drive to reach new heights and her dedication to representing her country at the highest level.
As she continues to develop her skills and gain experience, fans and teammates alike will be watching her journey with great anticipation.
