Angel Reese’s season is encountering a challenging start.
On Friday night, the LSU women’s basketball team secured a decisive victory against Southeastern Louisiana; however, the absence of star forward Angel Reese from the Lady Tigers raised eyebrows and prompted speculation about her status with the team.
Following the game, head coach Kim Mulkey refrained from providing detailed information about Reese’s absence, expressing a hopeful sentiment by stating, “we hope she’s back with the team soon.”
This development follows Reese’s benching in the second half of LSU’s previous win over Kent State, a decision attributed to a “coach’s decision” by Mulkey.
Angel Reese addressed the situation in a TikTok video posted early Saturday morning. The video featured several slides displaying photos of flowers gifted by her boyfriend, Cam’Ron Fletcher, a guard for Florida State. Reese highlighted the significance of the flowers in their six-month relationship, expressing gratitude for his support during challenging times.

“Thank you for being there during the light and dark of my life,” Reese captioned the video. “You keep me sane, and being my peace is what I’ve always looked at you for.”
LSU’s upcoming game is scheduled for Monday against Texas Southern, and Reese’s presence on the court is crucial, not only for the team but also for attracting casual viewers and contributing to the growth of the sport.
